Scope and Contents:
Includes an artificial aggregation of beverage and food labels gathered by Mair during his career. While the contemporary labels seem to have been used to document, compare, and inspire his design work, the antique fruit crate labels were probably collected in conjunction with the Museum of Packaging History. This series is arranged into five subseries. Subseries 8.1 are international wine labels. Subseries 8.2 include wine labels from California vineyards. Subseries 8.3 contain international beer labels. Subseries 8.4 consists of American beer labels. Subseries 8.5
primarily consist of liquor labels with a few other products represented. Subseries 8.6 are fruit crate labels. Researchers interested in more labels should consult individual client files.
