Nine drawings, two unfinished, depict scenes of warfare and men on horseback and include identifying captions in an unknown hand. Five drawings include a name glyph for Red Dog; one has a glyph for Black Crow; another is identified in an inscription as Two Strikes. The drawings are by multiple artists. Bound volume with board covers and pencil loop containing 8 leaves of unruled paper. Drawings on verso of seven leaves and inside covers. Inside front cover stamped with name and address of an art supply dealer in Washington, DC. All completed images include captions written by an unidentified source. Note: The drawings had separated from the binding when inventory numbers were assigned and have been rebound in a different order believed to represent the original location (see records in conservation files.)

Red Dog (Shun-ka Lu-ta) was an Oglala chief from the Red Cloud Agency.
