Scope and Contents:
Zulu Women, 1948. There are four Zulu women standing side by side. There are other people behind them. The women are holding carved sticks and wearing jewelry, beaded skirts and beads in their hair. Photograph by Constance Stuart Larrabee, 1948.
During a visit to Natal in 1948, Constance Stuart photographed among the Zulu. The Zulu are one of the most photographed peoples in Southern Africa. In some settlements, the inhabitants performed for the photographers.
There are no prints of this negative in the Constance Stuart Larrabee Collection. EEPA produced an 8x10 study print for reference purposes.
