Scope and Contents:
Original title reads, "Imposing man of Angas tribe, from Pankshin (south of Jos) wearing blue and yellow robe and matching hat with wings which give him a vaguely Oriental appearance. He is a builder, and was in the Zaranda area because he is building some houses there." [Elisofon field notes, August 1959-December 1959]
This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for Life magazine and traveled to Africa from August 18, 1959 to December 20, 1959.
