Scope and Contents:
Every Friday before Easter, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church hosts the public ritual march of clergy and penitents, where a crucified image of Christ is carried aloft by foot as an act of penance; while penitents sing traditional hymns. The procession marches down Park Rd NW into the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood before going down Mt. Pleasant Street.
