The AIB Collection of Afro-American Videos for 1990/91, George Mason Coleman, Pioneer Journalist; George Mason Coleman was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 5, 1922. He attended Booker T Washington High School, the first African American high school in Atlanta. Attended Hampton Institute and studied journalism at Lincoln University. Volunteered to serve in WWII, returned to Atlanta and began to work for the Atlanta Daily Word.
