United States of America--New Jersey--Mercer County--Princeton
[between 1898 and 1902]
Semmes (right rear) was John Edward Semmes, Jr., who was a member of the class of 1902 at Princeton and a friend of White's from Baltimore, where both had attended Boys' Latin School. Buchanan (front) was Charles McCay Buchanan, also a member of the class, as was Paul Townsend "Pete" Jones (left rear). Identification of the subjects was determined by comparison with other images in the White Collection and with images in the 1902 Class Photograph Album published by Pach Bros. Photographers of New York (there are several copies in the Princeton University Archives).
