About 1900 postcard of Sulfur Springs Grotto. Stairway and Grotto still extant. Art Gallery in bacground vanished. 1995 Fern Poject planted above grotto. Note: at the time this was built, spring rocks and waterfalls of concrete were a popular construction method. Examples still existing are Sutro falls in Golden Gate Park and the cliffs constructed by william Sutro across from the Cliff House. San Francisco. DonaldR. Church collection.
