Scope and Contents:
Professional files consist of Rubin's employment records as curator for the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans and the Phoenix Art Museum; as director of the Freedman Gallery at Albright College, San Francisco Art Institute, and Santa Monica College Art Gallery; and as associate director/chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland, then known as the Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art. Other files include born-digital and written proposals, meeting minutes, correspondence, and other material that documents Rubin's consultant and committee work, participation in symposiums, professional education work, teaching, and projects.
Collection Restrictions:
Use of original papers requires an appointment and is limited to the Archives' Washington, D.C., Research Center. Use of archival audiovisual recordings and born-digital records with no duplicate copies requires advance notice.
