Scope and Contents:
Photographs, slides, and negatives are of Fisch, her family, traveling to Turkey, her studio, and works of art that include the Arline Fisch Slide Archive. Photographs of Fisch include childhood photographs; Fisch wearing her jewelry; at events; with craftsmen Yasuki Hiramatsu, Boris Bally, Richard Mawdsley, Lois Moran, and Beth Pollock; with her siblings; with Jack Lenor Larsen, Paul Soldner, and Paul Smith in Turkey; and at the Penland School of Crafts, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Skidmore College, Renwick Gallery. Also included are photographs of Fisch in China, Switzerland, and teaching in Italy. Many of the photographs are labeled. Fisch's slide archive consists of 1574 numbered slides of artwork which are accompanied by spreadsheets that note the corresponding piece number, year, form, title, material, technique, and dimension of each work of art. Supplementary information about the slide archive, and Fisch's body of work, and additional images are included in digital format in ER01.
Collection Restrictions:
Use of original papers requires an appointment and is limited to the Archives' Washington, D.C., Research Center. Use of archival audiovisual recordings and born-digital records with no duplicate copies requires advance notice.
Collection Rights:
Arline M. Fisch retains copyright for the manuscript for the 2nd edition of her book Textile Techniques in Metal for Jewelers, Sculptors, and Textile Artists (New York: Van Nostrand Reinhold, c. 1975) and notes for the first edition.
