Descriptive Entry:
The record unit contains correspondence, memoranda, notes, reports, manuscripts, and other materials documenting the activities of the Department of Entomology and its staff, especially during the tenures of John Frederick Gates Clarke, Karl V. Krombein, and Paul D. Hurd, Jr., as chairman. Some material concerning the professional activities of these three is also included.
Historical Note:
For an administrative history of the Department of Entomology, see Record Units 138, 139, and 140 above, and 148 below. Paul D. Hurd, Jr., became chairman of the Department in 1970.
