This accession consists of the records of Gretchen Gayle Ellsworth, who served as Chairperson of the Child Care Advisory Board and was involved in early planning for what eventually became the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center. Materials include specifications for the National Museum of American History (NMAH) child care facility; cost proposal for Architectural and Engineering Services to the Child Care Alternatives; correspondence and notes pertaining to space planning for a child care facility at NMAH; proposal for a child care center at the National Museum of Natural History; donations information; articles of incorporation; blueprints of the facility's playground; meeting minutes; and model business plans for Smithsonian Child Care Centers.
