This accession consists of the records of Elizabeth M. Sharpe, former Deputy Assistant Director for Public Programs at the National Museum of American History (NMAH),
and Project Manager for the Science in American Life (SAL) exhibition. In 1994 the Department of Public Programs was reorganized as the Office of Public Services.
The records primarily document planning for the exhibition Science in American Life, which opened at NMAH in April 1994. Materials consist of monthly and weekly
reports; correspondence and memoranda; exhibition proposals, scripts, and drawings; minutes of meetings of the Advisory Board; budgetary information; docent scripts; and information
on symposiums. Also included are records pertaining to the Science in American Life Curriculum Project, an interactive videodisc program that served as a supplementary
package to Science in American Life for middle school science students and their teachers.
