This accession consists of records which document the work of the Department of Exhibitions and Collections Management in the preparation and development of exhibitions
at the National Portrait Gallery (NPG), as well as the design and publicity involved with exhibitions and the loan of art objects both to and from the museum. Staff represented
in the collection include Beverly J. Cox, Director of Exhibitions and Collections Management; Claire Kelly, Director of Exhibitions; and Kristin Smith, Exhibition and Loan
Specialist. Some materials date to when the department was known as the Office of Exhibitions. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, scripts, object lists, conservation
records, budget records, production schedules, permissions, comment cards, comment books, loan records, label text, invitations, press kits, images, brochures, and clippings.
