Descriptive Entry:
This accession consists of contact sheets for photographs of events occurring mostly in the Washington, D.C., area. Many of these images were created for the annual exhibit "History as Seen from the National Museum of American History," later renamed "The Year in Pictures: As Seen from the National Museum of American History." Events include protests, marches, festivals (including the Festival of American Folklife), reenactments, inaugurals, dedications, memorials, holiday activities, parades, sporting events, and other current events. Materials also include press releases, brochures, programs, news clippings, photographs, slides, and other supplemental information.
