Descriptive Entry:
This accession consists of materials documenting the research and correspondence of Judith Zilczer. Zilczer was employed by the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in various capacities from 1974-2003, ultimately serving as Curator of Paintings from 1992-2003. The majority of the research materials pertain to John Quinn, Walter Pach, Raymond Duchamp-Villon, Richard Lindner, the Wilmerding brothers (William E. and Alexander Clinton), John Covert, and other collectors, patrons, and artists. These papers also document Zilczer's other professional activities, including publishing, teaching, and lecturing. Materials include correspondence; photocopies of articles and primary sources; clippings and reprints; bibliographies; images of artwork; unpublished and published manuscripts; lecture scripts; course outlines; notes; and related materials.
