This accession consists of audiovisual elements that were likely associated with the production of the Smithsonian Video Collection. The Smithsonian Video Collection
was a joint venture with Eastman Kodak Company to provide videos featuring Smithsonian Institution collections and research to the general public. A total of six one-hour
programs were produced in 1989, including "Supertour;" "First Ladies;" "Gems and Minerals: The Ultimate Rock Video;" "National Zoo: The Zoo Behind the Zoo;" "Creatures Great
and Small;" and "Flying Machines." Materials include opening sequences, camera footage, audio mixes, edited masters, and related materials recorded on a variety of videotape
and audiotape formats. Some materials may be duplicates of original materials that were then repurposed.

Restrictions pertaining to the use of these materials may apply (based on contracts/copyright). Access restrictions may also apply if viewing/listening copies are not currently available. Viewing/listening copies can be made for a fee. Contact reference staff for details.
