These records consist of video and audio elements for the video, "The National Zoo: The Zoo Behind the Zoo," 1989; which provides a tour of the National Zoological Park and its Conservation and Research Center in Front Royal, Virginia; shows journeys to other continents on historic expeditions; and visits experts who lead the fight to save species from extinction. Created in 1989, this video was part of a home video series that was created for a general audience. The series, titled, "Smithsonian Video Collection," was a collaborative venture with Eastman Kodak Co. and consisted of five programs available for purchase. Materials include Betacam tapes, U-Matic tapes, 3/4" magnetic video tape, 1" magnetic video tape, 1/4" audiotape, and 2" magnetic soundtrack.
