Descriptive Entry:
The Office of Telecommunications (OTC) produced nine short films on the role of towboats on the Mississippi River for the Hall of Maritime Enterprise in the National Museum of American History. This footage was used to produce nine short interactive videodiscs to provide visitors the opportunity to learn the history, technology, and commercial importance of towboats on the Mississippi River. Materials include Master Betacam transfers of original camera rolls, 16 mm original camera negatives, 1/4 inch sound recordings, cut shows and a few window dubs where original components could not be found.
