Biographical / Historical:
The Baptist Levering Mission in Wetumka, Oklahoma was established in 1880. The Indian boarding school was known under several names including, the Old Levering Manual Labor School, Wetumka Boarding School, Creek National Boarding School, and the Wetumka National Boarding School for Creek Indian Boys. The school was open for twenty-nine years and closed in 1910.
