Scope and Contents:
Edited film documents a celebration of Nigerian independence attended by British royalty (possibly Queen Elizabeth). Pageantry includes processions of various leaders and their tribal members and dances. Film also includes street scenes in Lagos with a parade of Catholics and Protestants adults and children, school children in their uniforms, a funeral procession of a sportsman (Chief Joseph Koshonicla Randle?) and children playing games. A European influenced wedding is contrasted with a traditional Nigerian wedding which includes a recreation for the camera of a boy meets girl, boy wins parental consent to marry girl story. Cameraman is Olojo Kosoko.
