Biographical / Historical:
Tania (1920-1982) was a painter, sculptor, and collagist in New York City, New York, perhaps best known for her 1970 13-story geometric wall painting which still stands at the corner of Mercer Street and 3rd Street in Greenwich Village, New York. Tania studied at the Art Students League and was known as a painter of city walls. Although she went by surnames Schreiber, Schreiber-Milicevic, or Pollak, she began to use only her first name from 1958 on.
