Scope and Contents:
Correspondence, prospectus, exhibition catalogs, photographs, clippings, sketches, much of it relating to Joseph Stella.
Reel N69-112: Correspondence, 1954-1959, and 1967-1969, concerns the sale of Mosca's paintings, and includes letters from Nathan Cummins, chairman of Consolidated Food Corp. and a Mosca collector; Harry and Betty Salpeter, Roger Van Damme, Seymour Tubis; Jessica Gasparo, Stefano Cusumano, and Alfred Russell. Also included are 10 photographs of Mosca and his work and two Joseph Stella catalogs.
Reel N70-7: Papers relating to Joseph Stella, 1938-1944. Thirty-seven letters and postcards reflecting the friendship between Stella and Mosca, commenting on Stella's and Mosca's work, and his illness; a 16p. typed reminiscence of Stella by Mosca; and a letter from Mosca to Giovanni Stella, 1943, expressing his concern for his brother's condition. Also included are Mosca's correspondence on Stella's exhibits with M. Knoedler & Co., and with Theodore Sizer, Yale University; a typed prospectus for the Joseph Stella School of Art, and a preface for a Mosca exhibit catalog written by Stella.

Painter; Bronx, N.Y.; d. 2002 Born in Naples, Italy. Studied under Joseph Stella, and at the Yale School of Fine Arts. Member of the Artists Equity Association, New York.
