The collection contains letters, writings, financial records, inventories including works in the collection of Percy A. Rockefeller, photographs, and printed material documenting the sales and appraisals of works of art by private dealer Jonce Irwin McGurk. Among the correspondents are Percy A. Rockefeller, Eli Lilly, Marcella Hartley Dodge, Andrew Mellon, Gustave Weigand, Mrs. E.F. Hutton, Richard H. Pleasants, Francis P. Garvan, Alfred I. Dupont, Mantle Fielding, and others.

Jonce Irwin McGurk (1875-1947) was an art dealer in New York, N.Y. McGurk was the principal advisor to Percy Rockefeller.

Donated 2003 by Arluvene Thompson, whose husband is McGurk's great nephew and in 2020 by Mark Thompson, Arluvene Thompson's son.
