Found are illustrations by Steele Savage for King's book The Coat of Many Colors, correspondence including letters from Maurice Sendak, Andrew Wyeth, and William Zorach, photographs and reproductions of works of art, and research notes and writings by King and Rose Henderson.
Arrangement:
Due to the small size of this collection the papers are arranged as one series.

Author Marian King (1900-1986) was a life-long resident of Washington, D.C., primarily known for her books on art-related subjects written for children.
Provenance:
Marian King donated her papers to the Archives of American Art in 1958 and 1968.
