Biographical / Historical:
Mitzi Gallant (1914-1980) was a portrait painter in New York City, New York. Gallant began her career as a dress designer and milliner. She studied at the Art Students League and was an active member of the Artists Equity Association.

The collection was donated by Mitzi Gallant in 1979.
