A handwritten guarantee bond and a typescript of the bond; 12 volumes of scrapbooks; and 1 letter.
REEL 2803: A handwritten 50,000 dollars guarantee bond for the Detroit Art Loan Association Exhibition with 50 signatures of persons donating 1,000 dollars each, March 7, 1883. Also included is a typescript of the bond.
REEL D10A: Scrapbooks, 1882-1902, containing news of Art Loan and other Detroit art news, of establishing the Detroit Art Museum in 1888, and exhibition announcements and programs.
REEL D8: Letter from F. A. Draper, written on Detroit Art Loan Exhibition stationary to M. J. Jenks and Company, Sept. 18, 1883, inquiring about property for sale.

Detroit Art Loan Association was established for promoting art matters, giving art exhibitions and establishing a permanent art gallery and school.
Provenance:
Material on reel D8 donated 1957 by Mrs. Alexander. Material on reel D10A lent for microfilming 1959 by the Detroit Institute of Art. Material on reel 2803 donated 1959 by the Detroit Institute of Art.
