Biographical / Historical:
Elaine de Kooning (1918- 1989) was a painter in New York, N.Y. and East Hampton, N.Y. Her husband (1904- 1997), Willem de Kooning was an action painter from Holland who flourished in the New York school.

Also in the Archives are Elaine de Kooning scrapbooks and interviews and lectures, 1959-1988 that were donated in 2004 and 2013 by Denise Lassaw, de Kooning's god-daughter.
