Developed as a product by Wisconsin Indian Craft (a tribal arts cooperative developed in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin's Art Education Extension); sold to the Tipi Shop, Sioux Indian Museum and Crafts Center (Rapid City, South Dakota); purchased in 1964 by Indian Arts and Crafts Board representatives from the Tipi Shop; part of the IACB Headquarters collection (Department of the Interior, Washington, DC) until 2000 when it was transferred to NMAI.
