Naval Career of George H. Mills

Collection Creator:
Mills, George H., 1895-1975  Search this
Extent:
7 Boxes
Container:
Box 1
Type:
Archival materials
Text
Scope and Contents:
Material in this series is drawn mainly from Mills' 31 year naval career. Mills arranged his papers as they accumulated during his service. Thus, papers relating to his service at NAS Lakehurst would tend to be grouped together. That arrangement has been maintained in this series, and unsorted papers have been filed into the appropriate sections. The series begins with general biographical material and service documentation, followed by papers relating to Mill's various service assignments, arranged chronologically, with the largest group of papers relating to Mills' command of the US Atlantic Fleet's airship wing. These files are followed by papers from Mills' service on board individual airships and surface ships. Mills' service correspondence, which was organized separately, is included in Series II.
Collection Restrictions:
No restrictions on access.
Collection Rights:
Material is subject to Smithsonian Terms of Use. Should you wish to use NASM material in any medium, please submit an Application for Permission to Reproduce NASM Material, available at http://airandspace.si.edu/permissions
