Scope and Contents:
The photoprints which comprise this collection apparently were contact-printed from original negatives. The negatives seem to date from about 1890, but the prints are much more recent. A variety of subjects is included, as described in the container list, but the theme seems to be educational. Education in crafts, veterinary medicine, and mathematics or physics are included, although several of the scenes may be in industrial rather than educational settings.

Summary:
This collection consists of two photograph albums and a number of individual photographs (tintypes and cabinet prints, all portraits), from the turn of the century to approximately 1918. The cabinet prints are from Pennsylvania and Ohio studios. Most of the snapshots seem to have been taken in and around Washington, D.C.
Scope and Contents:
This collection is composed of two photograph albums and a number of individual photographs. The group includes nineteenth-century material (tintypes and cabinet prints, all portraits), but most of the items are from the turn of the century to approximately 1918. Studio portraits as well as amateur snapshots are included. The cabinet prints are from Pennsylvania and Ohio studios. Most of the snapshots mounted in the two albums seem to have been taken in and around Washington, D.C., and include numerous familiar buildings and scenery. The albums are in poor condition, as number 1 is 'without a cover, and most of the pages are separated from the cover of number 2. Photographers represented include (?) Applegate, J. B. Bairstow, and Filson & Son.

Summary:
This collection contains twelve photoprints in the cabinet print format, although only nine are true albumen cabinet prints. The subjects depicted are European scientists. Except as otherwise noted in the listing, biographical information about the subjects was located in standard biographical references, such as Asimov's Biographical Encyclopedia of Science and Technology, Dictionary of Scientific Biography, Chambers' Dictionary of Scientists, and World Who's in Science.
Scope and Contents:
12 photoprints: portraits of various scientists and scholars, including Irish, French, English, and German men. All are on cabinet-size mounts, nine being silver albumen cabinet prints, while three are silver gelatin prints.

One series, unarranged.
