An interview of Moira Roth conducted 2011 April 22- 24, by Sue Heinemann, for the Archives of American Art's Elizabeth Murray Oral History Project, at Roth's home, in Berkeley, California.

56 items, almost entirely printed matter, consist of exhibition catalogues, announcements, books, pamphlets, newsletters, flyers, broadsides, calendar, prospectus cards, clippings, and posters generated by central and orbital figures associated with Fluxus: Allan Kaprow, Charlotte Moorman, Dick Higgins, Ray Johnson, George Maciunas, Peter Moore, and Richard Kostelanetz.

Elissa Auther (1966- ) is associate professor of contemporary art in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Slides, writings, printed material, and letters from the early 1960s document Goldsmith's association with Allan Kaprow and his "Happenings." Included are slides of the Happening (part of the Yam Festival) at George Segal's farm, South Brunswick, N.J., held May 19, 1963, to which Goldsmith had been invited, including images of Kaprow, Jim Dine, Yvonne Rainer, Dick Higgins, and La Monte Young. Printed material consists of clippings on Happenings by Kaprow, directions to Segal's farm, a mimeographed explanation of Happenings by Kaprow, and a handbill for "Eat," a happening in the Bronx, January, 1963. Writings consist of a typescript of Kaprow's "Pop Art," 1963 given at the Jewish Museum, a handwritten manuscript of the talk, and a script for a Happening called "Calling" enacted by Kaprow in August, 1965. Correspondence is with Jean Lipman (then editor of Art in America) and Harvey Shapiro (of the Sunday New York Times), both of whom turned down Kaprow's lecture.

An interview of Ivan C. Karp conducted 1963 October 18, by Richard Brown Baker, for the Archives of American Art.
The interview focuses on Karp's time as co-director of the Hansa Gallery from 1956 to 1958. Karp talks about the general character and co-operative structure of the gallery; its mailing list and operation practices; how it located new talent; its sales; its location; critics and collectors who visited the gallery; coverage of the gallery in the art and general press; the make-up of its membership and his co-director Richard Bellamy. He discusses artists who were affiliated with the gallery: Richard Stankiewicz; Jane Wilson; Jan Müller; George Segal; Jean Follett; Myron Stout; Lilly Brody: Allan Kaprow; Miles Force; and Fay Lansner. He also mentions unaffiliated artists who exhibited in group shows at Hansa: Alfred Lesie, Robert Richenburg, Walasse Ting and the New Sculpture Group.
