Biographical / Historical:
On July 15, 1990, Hanover, Germany won the vote to host Expo 2000. The Expo coincided with the tenth year of German reunification and gave Germany an opportunity to show the world that Germany is a hospitable and progressive country. Expo 2000 had four pillars—global issues, sustainable development, projects around the world, and the cultural and events programme.
