"Similar to a pencil sketch bearing the legend, "Camp Houston near Fredericksburg, Texas, 65 miles north of San Antonio - Dec. 30, 1848;" and "left this camp March 10, 1849 for San Antonio" -- (Whatmough, Bushnell Collection Catalog, page 12).
