Scope and Contents:
English texts of Cheyenne stories and historical accounts collected by Truman Michelson at the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana. The stories were provided by She-Bear, White Eagle, and White Bull and translated and written down in English by Albert Duster and William Somers. One of the texts is an account by White Eagle on George Custer and battles during the Great Sioux War. Also includes information about the storytellers and Somers and some ethnological notes.

Edward Sapir's typed notes on the vocabularies of various Algonquian languages that he collected in 1911. List of languages covered: Delaware, pages 1-6; Abnaki (Pierreville), page 7-12; Malecite (Riviere du Loup, Thomas Paul), pages 13-17; Micmac, pages 18-23, Cree (Rupert's House), pages 24-25; Montagnais (Louis Clairie, Pointe Bleue), pages 26-28. There are annotations and corrections in ink in Sapir's handwriting (identified by Mary Haas, 4/58). There are also pencil additions signed by Michelson; perhaps all of the pencil additions are his.

All materials from the Real Life campaign were born digital and can be viewed in the Smithsonian Institution's Digital Asset Management System (DAMS). Ask reference archivist for assistance.
"Real Life" Campaign, 2015. The commercials portrayed not only inter-racial couples but also a gay couple, two fathers and their son. This campaign had a product tie in with the 2015 release of the new installment in the motion picture franchise, Star Wars. The materials in this series includes: storyboards, scripts, consumer feedback both postive and negative, focus group material, labels, commercials, supporting documentation on the development and implementation of the campaign.
