Portrait of Mrs. Edmond Pendleton Hunter standing with her body facing forward, her gaze directed toward the viewer, and her arms resting on the back of a chair beside her. She wears a dark dress with long sleeves and a deep V neckline adorned with lace trim. Draped over her shoulders and around her arms is a diaphanous shawl. Her dark hair is parted in the middle and pulled back from her face with small ringlets falling around her neck. In the background a bit of drapery is pulled back to reveal a cloudy sky.
