Summary:
Waterscape scene depicting two tall sailing ships traveling down a wide inlet and heading out to sea, where other ships are visible silhouetted against a deep blue sky. Both shores of the inlet are lined with buildings flying American flags, and wharfs with figures fishing. In the foreground other figures are seated in horse-drawn wagons that travel along a road beside the shore.
