Summary:
Portrait of an Alabama lady seated beside a round table, her body turned slightly to the right, her left arm resting on the arm of her chair, her right arm resting on the tabletop, and her right hand raised to her chin. She wears a blue dress with long sleeves and white lace trim around the cuffs and collar. At the neckline she wears a cameo pin, and her brown hair is swept back from her face. The table beside her is covered with a bright blue and gold patterned tablecloth, and resting atop the table are two books, a vase of pink, white, and blue flowers, and a small box, its lid open and a bit of lace draped over the edge. The portrait is on a square canvas with a circular format painted within a spandrel.
