Summary:
Portrait of the artist's daughter, Sylvia, standing in a garden near her mother's knees. Her mother, Mrs. Benson, is cut off and only part of her body and face is seen. A cat sits on her lap. Her right arm is behind Sylvia's back. Sylvia wears a white dress and white tights and has a bow in her hair. She looks at the cat and her arms linger in the air, as if she is about to touch the cat.
