Summary:
John Kinard reviews previous year's use of funding, including the initiation of the Anacostia Studies Department which was concerned with researching the history of Anacostia and creating the exhibition, Evolution of a Community. Kinard talks about proposals and ideas concerned with development of an exhibit design and production lab at Anacostia Neighborhood Museum (ANM), development of a new museum referenced as the Anacostia Neighborhood Museum International Business Center for comparative study of similar problems locally and internationally, and renovations of current ANM facility; and potential funding opportunities for these projects. Museum staff - Zora Martin and Larry Thomas - talks about their work at the museum. Thomas provides overview of and introduces staff involved with upcoming exhibition, Evolution of a Community. Alton Jones oversees formation of a committee to set the structure and responsibilities of Advisory Board and Committee. Opening of Frederick Douglass Memorial Home is discussed.
