Title is provided by ACMA Archives staff based on researcher's notes.
Information from Turner's diary as reported in Margaret Wade-Lewis publication reads, "By September , Turner had traveled thousands of miles: Just before beginning the last days work in and near Nigeria, I got stranded in the thick bush of Dahomey when my car battery suddenly ceased to function. I have sent a boy to a town 50 to 60 miles away for another battery and have waited here all night for his return. I shall probablymail this letter in Badagry, an important town historically, where I shall spend two days before leaving Nigeria." [Lorenzo Dow Turner: Father of Gullah Studies.
