Woods' Côte (Nashville, Tennessee)
The house on this 15 1/2 acre property that makes up Woods' Côte was designed by Ed Keeble in 1941, but no landscape was created at that time. The present owners bought the property in 1972 and have created the gardens themselves. The features include stone retaining walls and stairs, a lily pond, a streambed planted with wildflowers, and a rose garden surrounded by a deer-proof electric fence.
Persons associated with the garden include: Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Houston (former owners, 1941-1972); and Stephen Wells (designer of entrance terrace and walkways, 2004).
