The Superior Engine Division of the National Supply Company, Springfield, Ohio, manufacturers of gas and diesel engines, was originally founded as Shouvlin Brothers in 1888. After becoming the Superior Gas Engine Company in 1895 and the Superior Engine Company in 1928, it was acquired by National supply in 1928.
