Mr. Bukowski was born in Wallingford, Conn., April 11, 1922, the youngest of nine children. He began to play the trombone at age 14 after hearing Tommy Dorsey at a local ballroom. A fan of jazz bands, he began forming this collection while in grammar school, sending postcards to bands requesting pictures; later he saw many bands in person.
Publicity photographs and postcards of entertainers, mostly jazz musicians and leaders of dance bands, etc., and related memorabilia.
