Summary:
21 girls sitting in and on car, with man wearing dress shirt and tie in background. Scanned print bears Scurlock studio signature in silver ink, lower right. Also 4 additional prints (stored in box 49), incl. a semi-glossy print with pencil caption on verso: "Picnic group, Highland Beach, Md / 1931". Cf. record for original negative, no. 618.179056.
The vehicle in the photograph has been identified as a 1929 Packard Model 633 8-cylinder Rumble Seat Roadster (Paul Delaney, May 2008).
Enlarged print, framed: Cat. No. 1998.0011.078 (618.226887A), approx. 11" x 14".
618.226887G: Single-weight fiber-base print, stored in plastic sleeve with a letter (25 July 1990) from Smithsonian Magazine about publication and a key drawing identifying some members of group: Madeline Murray, Doris Carter, Meta Lewis, Philein Baily [?], Leroy Williams, Adrienne Marshall, Harriet Pelham, Julia Roger[s?], and Ann Rogers.
