The Evergreen House was the home of John Work Garrett. The estate was bequeathed to The John Hopkins Univeristy. The house, library and grounds are maintained for the university by the Evergreen Foundation. Italian formal garden was laid out in wide shallow terraces. Trees are clipped into formal shapes.
