The lithograph from which this photographic image was made is also part of the Archives of American Gardens collection. The plan and/or rendering was likely the work of either landscape architect Gabriel Thouin (1747-1829) or his brother, botanist André Thouin (1746-1824,) since the inscription "Thouin, Del." appears on the rendering. The lithograph was produced by C. Molte.
