The slides were commissioned by Mrs. Hugh D. Auchincloss Sr. Phelps, Harriet Jackson. Newport in Flower. Newport, RI: Preservation Society of Newport County, 1979, p. 84-85. In 1965 Elmhurst Academy of the Sacred Heart aquired the property. In 1972 the school closed and the chateau has been used as a community center.
