Notes:
American cinematographer who worked on Francis X. Bushman films, ca. 1915. Films for which Herbert Oswald Carleton was cameraman are in the American Film Institute Catalog. Little is known about Herbert W. Carleton, the donor, presumably the son of Herbert O. Carleton.
Still photographers unidentified.
Summary:
Photographs from films, apparently for which Herbert O. Carleton was the cameraman. Not all the films represented have been identified, but they seem to include "The Call of Her People" with Ethel Barrymore, "Shame," "The Three of Us," and "The Birth of a Race."
