The collection includes group portraits of Indian scouts at Fort Grant in 1898; as well as images of Sioux scouts in 1870; Pawnee scouts; Apache scouts at San Carlos, circa 1893; Dakota followers of Sitting Bull at Standing Rock reservation in 1877; a squad of Indian police with Lieutenant Maury Nichols and an Indian agent; and a studio portrait of an Apache scout.
